ENLIVEN
Enliven is deeply inspired by the intermingling of Caribbean hubs & identities that make Miami "The Magic City". Sparked by the lively interplay of the menu's ingredients as well as the carnival of contrasts that suffuse the pulse of Miami. You will see influences of Art Deco, Colonial Carribean, and tropical biophilic elements in form, texture and pattern. My favorite moments include the Cuban-cigar inspired sunken lounge & the gallery showcasing archival "Carribean Existence".
Floor Plan
Inspired by the bend of blowing palm trunks that sprinkle Miami's urban oasis; The floor plan is conducive for dancing, events, community interaction and opportunities for conversation while waiting for a drink or pick up order. The floor changes show a change of seating type, and the materials communicate energy use. Whether that's the deep reds and browns in the cigar lounge for a more private and intimate experience or the bold geometric tiles for upbeat and lively get togethers in the indoor dance patio. The floor bends also act as way finding and are a nod to the curvature coined in art deco forms.
The host entry shows biophilic touches in the speckled vibrant wall covering, alluding to peacock feathers, as well as the wooden column motifs mirroring being under the canopy of palm trees. A warm, curious, and awakening welcome for the space that awaits around the corner.
Gallery & Waiting
The gallery and waiting area serve as a place to linger while waiting for a drink, to be seated, or wait for food orders. It's a place that makes each guest feel as though they are already a part of the party or restaurant before even ordering or being sat down. It's an opportunity for conversation and viewing. With the archival prints representing the joys and beauty of Caribbean people, it shows that Carribean people exist in ways other than employees in the hospitality space, after all they are the largest Caribbean population in the USA and are the majority of Miami's population. Here you can pelt your waist while waiting for your authentic pick-up order because, it doesn't matter the time of day, wining-waist and good food is in order any time. The colonial Caribbean touches of cane screens and distressed concrete murals framing the galleries are a nostalgic touch to invite and empower the guests.
Peacock Bar
The rubies and mauves of the peacock bar bring the drama and foreshadow the adjacent Sunken Cigar inspired lounge. The bar is enveloped in a hand painted clay art deco wallcovering and framed with acoustic walnut soffits. Below are dew-dropped peacock chandeliers that add a touch of retro glam.
The Cigar inspired lounge comes from the elements of cigars and tobacco in Cuban culture. The glow is representative of the cherry of the cigar, that softly illuminates the space around. While the layers and translucent nature are imagined from the paper layers of a cigar. The spine spiral form was also inspired by the spine of palm leaves. This space can serve private parties or intimate couple dates. It's a chance to be right in the middle of it all but in a private way. Surrounding the lounge are bar height seating, giving other patrons a chance to enjoy the central glow and feel from the lounge.
Solarium Banquette
This pop of steel powdered coated green and art deco shapes embedded in the window-wall brings in the best of the Miami daylight without the heat: Arching and stretching into the restaurant giving a retro deco flare and energy. The parlor-esque textile covers the French deco styled banquette cushions where textured glass tables and sky-blue velvet chairs accompany.
A space to feel the sparkle of the night sky, the galvanized-mesh chandeliers portray a feathery like fullness that illuminates dancing light throughout. The groin vaulted spherical ceilings bring in the Art-deco forms once again. Not only do the floors portray movement and rhythm, but the textured grass cloth wallcovering also balances the space with subtle interest.
